Spring Cleaning! Organize your Beauty Routine.

Is there anything better than a Spring purge? We think not... maybe except sangrias on a sunny porch. Spring is the perfect time to organize your skincare and makeup. With the winter months nearly behind us, it is best to take a look at your routine and simplify it. It is easy for your medicine cabinet and makeup storage to get unorganized, making it more hectic to get ready in the morning, so let's grab a trash bag, put on some tunes (maybe a little Bruno Mars?) and get to organizing with these easy steps!

Step 1: Evaluate which products (makeup and skincare) you use daily without fail. Set those items aside. We like to separate our routines by AM and PM.

Step 2. Look at the items that did not make your daily cut. Ask yourself how long you have had them (if it has been more than 24 months, toss those suckers).

Step 3. The items that are used sparingly and are still in good clean condition (and not expired) should go in a separate place, away from your daily routine. Place them in a bin or drawer, upside down (bottom label facing up). If you use the product, place it back into it's home right side up. If at the end of the year, there are still items upside down, it's time to toss them!

Step 4. Now it's time to organize your daily products. Let's start with skincare. In your medicine cabinet or bathroom storage, wipe them down with a antibacterial cloth to remove any build up, germs, and "icks" to keep them looking like new. Line your skincare up from left to right in the order which you use it.  (Don't forget to clean your storage before you put your products in it).

Organizing your makeup can be tough, but if you were able to set aside your key products and keep them separate from say, your "painting the town red" products, you are ready to simplify your storage. Let's break this down.

Step 5. Brushes: Organize your brushes by face and eyes. Keep them on your counter or vanity for easy retrieval. Don't keep them in a drawer, not only will they get the surrounding area messy, but they won't have a chance to breathe! We love keeping our brushes in fun, monogrammed mugs. Have one for your face brushes and one for your eye brushes which can also include your eyeliner and mascara.

Step 6. Find a storage unit that fits your personal style or if you have a vanity, pick a drawer designated to your makeup.

Step 7. Clean your makeup! Wipe down each compact, tube, and pallet with an antibacterial wipe and deep clean your brushes. See our Rub-a-Dub-Dub Blog post for tips.

Step 9. With your Osmosis Brush Cleaner in hand, open each powder product and give it a spritz (holding the bottle at arm's length away from the product). Let it dry completely before closing, roughly 10 minutes.

Step 10. From left to right, place the products in your drawer/storage unit in the order of which you use them.

Step 11. Take a deep breath and feel refreshed and organized!

Step 12. Put on some pink lipstick (we love First Kiss) and go meet up with your gals on a sunny, warm porch for some sangrias!
