How often do you clean your makeup brushes? We don't mean wiping them on a paper towel every now and again, we mean deep clean. Deep cleaning your brushes is an important part of your makeup ritual. Having clean brushes not only keeps your makeup clean and your skin clearer, it keeps your brushes living longer. It's best to clean your brushes at night so they have a full night to dry before use. Let's grab a bottle of wine and get to cleaning! (you can at least make it fun right?!?)

Step 1. Gather all of your brushes and head to the sink.
Step 2. Pour yourself a glass of wine and put on some Michael Jackson.
Step 3. Grab some coconut oil* and your Deep Clean Cleanser.
Step 4. Take a sip of wine.
Step 5. Grab your first brush and dip it into the water stream. (keep water temperature warm-hot).
Make sure to only wet the hair. DO NOT get water above the feral (the metal part of the brush).
Step 6. Pump a little cleanser into the palm of your hand.
Step 7. Swirl the wet brush into the cleanser, use your fingers to really work the product into the brush to remove makeup, dirt, and oil.
Step 7. Rinse your brush thoroughly.
Step 8. Squeeze any excess water from your brush and lay flat to dry on a towel. Make sure the brush head is slightly hanging over the edge of your counter for proper air circulation. DO NOT let your brushes dry sitting up in a cup. Water will seep down into the feral and loosen the glue that holds your brush together making your brushes life span a lot shorter!
Step 9. Take another sip of wine.
Step 10. Repeat steps until all of your brushes are clean.
Step 11. Take another sip of wine and do the moon walk.

*Use coconut oil on synthetic brushes to deep clean oils or liquid makeup products. Once you have massaged the oil into your brush, clean using the steps above.
