Our Favorite Gut-Healthy Takes on Thanksgiving Classics

We love any chance to gather around a giant table of delicious food with friends and family, but can certainly go without that post-feast bloat. We have collected some of our favorite gut-healthy (yet equally as tasty) takes on Thanksgiving classics and wanted to share them with you! Before you brave the Thanksgiving week local grocery store madness, be sure to add these to your checklist.

Herb Roasted Turkey Tenderloin

Don't get us wrong, we love a buttery, roasted full-sized turkey as much as the next person. But why spend 8 hours in the kitchen basting that 16-pound bird when you can have a leaner, yet juicier (yes, we said it!), and more importantly, easier option with a turkey tenderloin. This recipe will change the turkey game in the best way.

Butternut Squash Soup

Taking one classic side and turning it to liquid form is not only much gentler on the digestive system, but paves the way for an explosion of flavor opportunity! We love this butternut squash soup recipe, but you could do the same with broccoli cheddar, sweet potatoes, or even baked potatoes.

Cauliflower Mash

Cauliflower is one of our favorite healthy substitutes because it can take on the form of just about anything. Pizza crust, chicken wings, and even mashed potatoes! Just swap your russet potatoes for this high-fiber veggie and enjoy a guilt-free version of the classic crowd-pleaser. This garlic parmesan cauliflower mash is deceptively delicious.

Cranberry-Chia Jam

It's not the holidays without cranberries! But this seasonal dish can be loaded with sugar and preservatives when it comes from a can. Harness the health benefits of fresh cranberries with this sweet and savory jam that's great as a side and even better with leftovers.

Drink & Be Merry

Yes, you can even add a wellness twist to your holiday cocktails (because, thank goodness). We tried mindbodygreen's "cinnamon cranberry orange sunrise" and gave it the stamp of Osmosis Wellness approval! This scrumptiously seasonal toddy is chock-full of anti-inflammatory agents your digestive system will thank you for.
